In this economy, anything that that helps to differentiate you from your competition can give you an important 'leg up'. By volunteering to tackle an area that you're passionate about--even though you might not have the necessary 'street creds' to start with, is the best way to gain both the experience and the credibility within your company. It's the sure-fire path to get that new green job. Nice job, Dan!

I see two points here that have crossed the radar on other occasions: Many companies can save some $Green by becoming greener. Also once companies start to learn about sustainability, the more they learn, the more committed they are to being green. Nice quote.

Dan - with 2 girls the same age, I agree that our kids are getting caught up in an electronic web that is overwhelming (and extremely difficult to limit as a parent) and more importantly, affecting their ability to socialize, face to face. How will our kids connect with 'elders' who are in the position of hiring/firing them? What if they dream big but cant form a sentence? Will they be categorized as 'Generation TTYL'? Also, my kids 'talk the talk' yet leave radios, tvs and lights on when they leave a room. I wonder if there are green education jobs that focus on development of 'green' elementary curriculum. Do you see any 'green educator' jobs? Just sayin...
